DISCOVER YOUR VOICE If you want to be a voice in games, animated films, and commercials, this will help to prepare you. Learn what it takes to be a voiceover.. DEVELOP the ability to pick up a script and cold read it with skill. Learn to analyze and interpret text. Receive personal feedback. PERFORMANCE SKILLS Improve cold script readings, timing, and vocal expression. Learn to sustain energy during multiple takes. Recognize performance issues: breathing, articulation, phrasing, mouth noise, vocal projection, emotional nuance, flexibility, script analysis, and visualization. DEFINE CATEGORIES Animation, games, narration, storytelling, commercials, and spokespersons. David will also introduce you to creating characters
STUDENTS MUST BRING a recording device Cell phone or flashdrive to record their performances to keep for review.
ABOUT DAVID ROSENTHAL: On staff at Kids on Camera for over 25 yrs. He is one of the nation's top voice over coaches with over 25 years of directing and coaching experience and has helped many people start or further their career. As a voice over David has over 1000 voice over credits including 70 games which include Call of Duty and Super Mario Brothers. LEARN Interview and cold script reading skills, to take direction, to make bold choices, gain comfort on-camera and interact with partners. Students receive via email one age appropriate short commercial script to memorize 5 to 7 days before class. At the workshop students receive a new TV scene/dialogue from DISNEY and NICKELODEON. There will be time to practice and perform and no requirements to memorize the scene.
CASTINGS This workshop is educational and could lead to auditions as Linda searches for new talent. She helps actors interview from home and via internet. Following previous workshops with Kids on Camera, she contacted several Bay Area students who now audition in LA and SF. See more youth client credits below. PARENTS ATTEND a Q & A at 4:45P for feedback of their children's performances. Gain insight about audition process and learn how a child can audition from home and via internet. LINDA DEFILIPPO has over 20 years in the industry working w/ prominent talent agents & directors. She casts commercials, voiceovers, TV and web series & films. She started as a manager in Long Island NY in 1994. In 2001 LA became her home. LINDA has a strong work ethic. She was a world Champion Roller Figure Skater. In her spare time she trains National figure skating champions. Judy Berlin is a credentialed teacher in Theatre Arts and Communications. She is also a professional casting director for over 25 years and was a voice-over on Sesame Street for 12 yrs. Judy and her experienced staff are proud to provide an educational environment in which students learn to stretch and take risks, as performers and as people. All courses are designed to benefit both the actor and non-actor, by allowing students an outlet for their creative energy!
