ABOUT TV COMMERCIALS & THEIR PURPOSE
Commercials introduce new products, services and events. Actors use their personality and expression to engage the audience.
HOMEWORK
We email 2 short scripts like sample below 3-5 days before class.
Actor chooses one to memorize before class.
PREPARE TO ANSWER INTERVIEW QUESTIONS BEFORE CLASS.
– Describe 2 interests or games you play and why you like them
– What makes you happy?
SAMPLE SCRIPT: JUICY JUICE
TEACHER: Kids eat too much sugar.
CHILD: We can’t help it. I like Juicy Juice. All fruit and no sugar

JUDY BERLIN, DIRECTOR, FOUNDER SINCE 1981 IS A VISIONARY.
After teaching acting for 10 years in private and public schools in Detroit and Chicago she moved to San Francisco in 1974. She was a voice on SESAME STREET FOR 12 YRS and a casting director for films and TV commercials. PARENTS GET FEEDBACK and learn how to get interviews with talent agents. She coached camps in Marin, 1975 to 2019. Judy was a vocalist in San Francisco and a finalist on STARS OF TOMORROW TV SHOW hosted by Joan Rivers. KGO SF TV news reporter, Michael Finney, featured Kids on Camera in 1998 on KGO news. In 2016 Kids on Camera received an award for their service to youth from the San Francisco Supervisors. She trained: Andy in TOY STORY; actors for LEAPFROG TOYS; Adam McArthur Voiceover on ANIME YOUR WAY TV SERIES; Bridgit Mendler was Teddy on Disney’s, GOOD LUCK CHARLIE; IN 2025 Maylia Renna was cast in a NIKE TV Commercial.
