ABOUT JOEY PAUL JENSEN, AWARD WINNING CASTING DIRECOR & FILM PRODUCER
Joey casts films with Disney, Sony Studios, Paramount, Universal. She cast SOUL ON FIRE, LEGALLY BLONDE & SOUL SURFER. She started CAREERS for Shia LeBeouf, Janel Parrish, Hillary Duff. ARTIOS AWARD WINNER as Best Independent Casting Director for Children’s TV Series. She has cast hundreds of hours of episodic TV for family networks: Hallmark, Disney Ch. Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, CBS, ABC, and PBS. In 2025 she cast a true story film: SOUL ON FIRE about John O’Leary who survived a fire at age 9. John got support from Hall of Fame Sports Broadcaster, Jack Buck, portrayed by actor, William H. Macy. Joey conducted a nationwide search new young talent. She also cast PBS KIDS TV SERIES. OUR CURRICULUM AND STUDENTS WILL LEARN TO:
– Develop comedy, script reading, timing skills and creativity
– Interact in film dialogues with your coach and classmates
– Create characters with your imagination
– Improve expression, diction, and phrasing
– Take direction, make-adjustments and sustain energy
– Understand character arcs; learn different story lines
– Get feedback in evaluations 6-12 days after workshop
THE VALUE OF IMPROVISATION
– Improves listening and trust in instincts
– Improv is created without preparation.
– Some auditions focus on improv without a script
– Take risks in new situations and be in the moment
– Improvise with partners. Let’s play and laugh
EASY HOMEWORK:
– We email a dialogue script 3-5 days before class to practice aloud.
Practice both parts. No need to memorize dialogue.
– One-line scripts emailed early to practice.
– Bring a bottle of water and a small healthy snack.
– Confirmations with class site details are emailed 3-5 days before class.

She cast many hours of episodic TV for family networks and 18 animated and live TV series including OSWALD THE OCTOPUS and ADVENTURES OF SAM SANDWICH.
