“I believe the children are our future …
teach them well and let them lead the way.
Show them all the beauty they possess inside.
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier…

KIDS ON CAMERA – OUR HISTORY & PURPOSE
Established in 1981 Kids on Camera is a personal development and acting training that serves young people by improving their communication skills, self-esteem and confidence. We aim to make learning fun! Through our unique curriculum, and our evaluations following each workshop our students learn about their accomplishments.
USING OUR IMAGINATIONS and CREATING JOY IS KEY!
WHY JUDY BERLIN STARTED KIDS ON CAMERA!
“When I was in high school, acting class was a very special part of my day. I performed in plays, assisted our play director behind the scenes at rehearsals, and became president of Drama Club. Acting classes in my teen years gave me a creative outlet and it was fun. Those experiences gave me the desire to become an acting teacher.”

MEMORABLE MESSAGE TO GIVE US ALL HOPE IF A HEALTH CRISIS RETURNS!
Belgium Psychotherapist Ester Perel shared valuable insights in a recent National TV interview on Amanpour & Co in Dec. 2020.
Journalist, Christine Amanpour asked Ms. Perel:
Do we have permission to feel happy and pleasure in the midst of a crisis?
Ms Perel said:
“Being confined in 2020 – 2021 was a challenging time.
Our minds traveled and our Imaginations soared. We need to allow ourselves to feel hopeful that there is a ray of light shining through the crack. Let’s use our imaginations – to write poems – create stories – to dream and sing. Using our imaginations will keep us alive and resilient.”

My curriculum is designed to encourage
my students to use their imaginations!
My students learn to trust their instincts, explore their imaginations and develop creativity and improve social skills.
We use our imaginations in all of my classes and we need to especially at this time. Every class I give adds an activity where we use our imaginations. Just last November I experienced my students feeling so happy as they shared their imaginations in an improvisation and storytelling class. We gave the students a sentence You’ll never believe this but…from which they created their own short original stories. I had the pleasure of experiencing my students feeling happy and joyful as they told their stories. The audience as well was happy listening to the stories. I also experienced my students having fun when they are creating character voices for my Voiceover for Animated Films class and also when they are learning comedy skills with scripts.
Classes on zoom began in April 2020.
We have a high return rate for our classes on zoom as we have experienced, fun, talented coaches. Enrollment is limited to 8-12 so we give proper attention so children can interact. We email fun and challenging scripts before the class date for practice. Parents are emailed evaluations following workshops to learn about what was covered and follow the progress of their child’s accomplishments.
Our EVALUATIONS & FEEDBACK
have been tools for our students to discover more about themselves.
Personal or visual video feedback reinforces the student’s self-image and accelerates their learning, growth and confidence. We provide an environment where students learn to take risks as performers and as people.
Our curriculum is designed to benefit both the actor and the non-actor. We create a feeling of personal freedom to overcome a child’s apprehensions and reduce the natural fear that they will be negatively judged. This approval/disapproval regulator can inhibit a child from realizing their full potential.
We empower children and look for the gifts each student brings to us.
Shy youngsters open up and feel more positive! Gifted and confident children find an outlet for their creative energy! Youngsters discover their uniqueness; the traits that make them extraordinary, in a non-competitive atmosphere! At the end of our workshops on zoom or after our one day in person workshops parents receive an evaluation via email or they attend to share in their child’s progress by viewing the class video or a live presentation.
